The Hockey Canada Board of Directors has approved changes to the insurance program in order to better reflect the continued growth of Hockey Canada’s programming and the changes in its membership.
The changes, which become effective for the upcoming 2018-2019 season, entail an insurance rate fee adjustment from $16.15 to $21.30 per participant, to be submitted as part of the participant assessment fee.
The key changes include enhancements to the benefit amounts for selected losses within the Accidental Death and Dismemberment policy, and for certain ancillary benefits such as rehabilitation, and home and vehicle alteration. Most importantly, the review and adjustments reflect the changing insurance markets and the fluctuation in insurance costs seen over the last two (2) decades. An informational document is attached which outlines important information regarding these adjustments.
Hockey Canada’s membership insurance program and associated fees have remained stable over the last 17 years, and Hockey Canada is committed to ensuring that its insurance program remains best-in-class among Canadian sport organizations. This is the first fee adjustment in that 17 year period.
The new fees will be assessed to your association/team beginning with registrations for the 2018-2019 season.
