BC Hockey Championships are held yearly for Pee Wee, Bantam, Midget, Juvenile, Senior and Junior BC Hockey teams. Individual teams participating in each championship are the winners from their district. At the Championships, teams are also selected to receive Fair Play Awards for sportsmanship and champions also receive Silver Skate Awards from the Vancouver Canucks.
BC Hockey Champions represent the best of each division and category in British Columbia. The winning teams were crowned their district winner before competing against other district winners from across the province.
In addition, BC Hockey Champions are honoured by the Vancouver Canucks with Silver Skate Awards. These awards celebrate the strong ties between minor and professional hockey. They are presented to each BC Hockey Champion by the
Vancouver Canucks Centre for BC Hockey
, funded by the Canucks for Kids Fund and supported by BC Hockey. The Silver Skate Awards were first presented in 2005-2006.
