Greiner Named Female Midget AAA Branch Coordinator

Thursday, June 04, 2015
BC Hockey has named Stefan Greiner (New Westminster, BC) as the Female Midget AAA (FMAAA) Branch Coordinator for the 2015-2016 season.
Greiner has been coaching in the Greater Vancouver area for the past five (5) seasons, serving as head coach for the Vancouver Minor Hockey Association’s Pee Wee, Bantam, and Midget teams as well as Seafair Minor Hockey Association’s Atom team. He was an assistant coach at the 2015 Female U16 BC Cup, and has also worked as a skills instructor with Kinetic Hockey Development, Canlan Ice Sports, and with the Vancouver Minor Hockey Association.
Said Greiner, “The FMAAA program has some exciting times ahead, and I am looking forward to working with BC Hockey and the league’s six (6) teams to make this season a successful one. I think we can all come together to make this an excellent program for female players in British Columbia.”
The league’s six (6) teams – the Fraser Valley Rush, Greater Vancouver Comets, Kootenay Wild, Northern Capitals, Thompson-Okanagan Lakers, and Vancouver Island Seals – will begin evaluation camps in August, with the regular season beginning in September.
The FMAAA program was introduced in the 2007-2008 season in response to the membership’s desire to provide an opportunity for elite female hockey players to come together on zone teams to challenge other elite female Midget teams. In its eight (8) years of operation, the program has sent over 100 female players from British Columbia to play at post-secondary institutions in Canada and the United States.
