2016-2017 Female Midget AAA Team Staff Applications

Tuesday, February 02, 2016

BC Hockey announced February 2, 2016 that applications are currently being accepted for Female Midget AAA (FMAAA) team staff positions for the 2016-2017 season. For full descriptions of each position, please review the FMAAA section of the policy manual (Section 12.01).

The deadline to submit an application is Tuesday, March 15, 2016.  The following positions are available with each FMAAA team:
  • Head Coach
  • Assistant Coach
  • General Manager
  • Trainer
All returning team officials must complete an application form in order to be considered for a position.  All applicants, especially any applicants who were not part of the FMAAA program during the 2015-2016 season, are required to include detailed information regarding their hockey background.

The FMAAA program consists of six (6) zone-based teams across the province – the Fraser Valley Rush (Langley), Greater Vancouver Comets (Coquitlam), Kootenay Wild (Nelson), Northern Capitals (Prince George), Thompson-Okanagan Lakers (Vernon), and Vancouver Island Seals (Campbell River). The teams play a 30 game regular season, followed by the playoffs. The FMAAA Champion has the opportunity to compete for the ESSO Cup, Hockey Canada's National Female Midget Championship, which will take place in Weyburn, Saskatchewan from April 19 - 25, 2016.

The FMAAA program was initiated in the 2007-2008 season in response to the membership’s desire to provide an opportunity for elite female hockey players to come together on zone teams to challenge other elite female Midget teams. The league has had nearly 100 players move on to post-secondary hockey opportunities.
