Team BC Goes Undefeated in Round-Robin at 2017 National Women’s U18 Championship

The Female U18 Team BC defeated the hosts, Team Quebec, 4 - 3 in their third and final round-robin game at the 2017 National Women’s U18 Championship on Friday, November 3, 2017.  The tournament is taking place at the Pavillon in Quebec City, Quebec.

BC came out strong and outshot Quebec 10-4 in the first period but neither team was able to score. Jenna Buglioni (Port Moody, BC) opened the scoring for BC scoring just 38 seconds into the second period. Before 40 minutes were through, Quebec was able to equalize and it was 1 – 1 after two (2) periods of play. In the third period, BC was able to get goals from Danika Pasqua (Langley, BC) and Emma Hall (Maple Ridge, BC) to give them a two (2) goal lead.  Credit Quebec as they were able to come back and tie the game at 3-3 before Alex Allan (Abbotsford, BC) was able to give BC the 4 - 3 win tallying with only 14 seconds left in the game.

Team BC outshot Team Manitoba 34-21 and Kendra Woodland (Kamloops, BC) earned the win in BC’s net.


With a perfect 3-0 round-robin record, Team BC earned a semifinal berth sitting atop group B. They will play at 1:30 PT  against Ontario Red on Saturday, November 4, 2017.  Medal games will be played on Sunday, November 5, 2017.  The gold medal game will be broadcast live on TSN/RDS; check local listings.

Team BC brought home the bronze medal last year, the best finish for Team BC in the tournament’s history.
