BC Hockey announced that Danielle Corrigan of the Northern Capitals has been named the Female Midget AAA League (FMAAA) Player of the Month for January 2018. The 5’7” forward from Prince George, BC, tallied a pair of goals in back-to-back games against Thompson-Okanagan.
Corrigan, 18, is the leader of the Capitals, serving as team captain. The Capitals have iced a very young roster and Corrigan has led by example with an exceptional work ethic on and off the ice. Corrigan volunteers her time with a local Learn to Skate Program and has a positive influence to all those involved with the Capitals’ program.
The FMAAA was initiated in the 2007-2008 season in response to the membership’s desire to provide an opportunity for elite female hockey players to come together on zone teams to challenge other elite female Midget teams. The league has had over 100 players move on to post-secondary hockey opportunities.
