BC Hockey announced today that Vancouver Fusions goaltender Justine DeNure has been selected as the Female Midget AAA player of the month for October. DeNure played in three (3) games and posted a 2-0-1 record with a 1.67 goals against average and a .910 save percentage in the first weekend of Female Midget AAA league play.
“She works very hard at her game and has made great strides,” said Fusion head coach Pat Thibeault. “As a coaching staff we are pleased to have such a dedicated athlete on the ice as well as off the ice with her community service.”
In addition to her outstanding play on-ice she has been a role model off the ice in her local community. Justine and her teammates have continued to give back to minor hockey associations as a part of their Community Give Back program.
Prince George Cougar’s goaltender Megan Spooner was a close second in balloting for the Player of the Month in October.
