BC Hockey announced today that Lisa Trainor (Coquitlam, BC) of the Fraser Valley Phantom has been selected as the Female Midget AAA player of the month for December. Trainor had a great month of December finishing with three (3) goals, two (2) assists and an impressive plus six (6).
“This was a breakout weekend for Lisa. She recently moved from wing to centre and has now adapted to her responsibilities in both the offensive and defensive zones,” said Fraser Valley Phantom head coach Dave Mallo. “I would not hesitate to make Lisa a lettered player (Captain or Assistant) next year as a third year player.”
Trainor was chosen from a high calibre list of other nominees. The runners up in no particular order are as follows:
- Thompson-Okanagan Rockets – Julia McKinnon
- Vancouver Fusion – Alex Yallouz
- Kootenay Wildcats – Jayme Saunders
- Prince George Cougars – Allanna Duncan
- Vancouver Island Impact – Alyssa Andres
The Female Midget AAA League was initiated in the 2007-2008 season in response to the membership’s desire to provide an opportunity for elite female hockey players to come together on zone teams to challenge other elite Female Midget teams.
