Male Midget AAA Committee Announced

BC Hockey announced September 1, 2015 the four (4) members of the Male Midget AAA Committee for the 2015-2016 season.  The committee will provide general oversight of the BC Major Midget League (MML) and will be responsible for the development of the administrative and operational standards of the program.

The committee members are:

Adam Hayduk

North Vancouver

Todd Harkins

North Vancouver

David Michaud

Kelowna

Fred Zweep

Abbotsford

Hayduk is currently the Assistant General Manager and Assistant Coach of the BC Hockey League (BCHL) Alberni Valley Bulldogs.  He has been involved in the BC Hockey High Performance Program since 2005, having worked at all levels from the new U15 program to winning a silver medal with Team Pacific at the 2014 World U17 Hockey Challenge.  Prior to this Coaching career, he served as the Executive Director of the Vancouver Thunderbirds.

After his 11 year professional playing career, Harkins joined the North Shore Winter Club as Hockey Director.  In role as Hockey Director, he oversaw the on ice success with BC Hockey and Regional Championships.  He then led the Vancouver North West Giants to back-to-back League Championships in 2011 and 2012.  After the 2011-2012 season, he was named the BC MML Coach of the Year.  Harkins is currently the General Manager of the Western Hockey League (WHL) Prince George Cougars.

This season marks the first year for Michaud in his new role as the director of player development and corporate for the Penticton Vees of the BCHL.  Previously, he spent five (5) seasons as the general manager of the Okanagan Rockets.  The Rockets won the BCMML Championship and the Pacific Regional Championship in 2013-2014, advancing to the TELUS Cup where they claimed bronze.  Michaud has also served in various roles with the BC Hockey High Performance Program, including the assistant director of operations for Team Pacific at the World U17 Hockey Challenge.

Zweep is the president of the Vedder Transportation Group, a privately held diversified truck transportation, warehousing and Logistics Company.  In 2011, he was one (1) of five (5) outstanding individuals from around the world to be recognized for their contribution to the natural gas industry and was awarded the prestigious Natural Gas Vehicle Global Champion Award.  Zweep has also been involved in the BC Hockey High Performance Program for many years and served as the Director of Operations for Team BC.
