Okanagan Rockets vs. Valley West Hawks

The Hawks split their weekend series with the Rockets. Okanagan won a shootout on Saturday, thanks to four (4) from Matt Kowalski and additional goals from Eli Zummack and Benjamin Dietrich-Scammell. Michael Farren (2), Armahn Sidhu, and Daniel Chifan scored for the Hawks in a losing effort. The Hawks came out firing in Game 2, scoring seven (7) goals in a team effort from Farren, Justyn Gurney (2), Ilijah Colina, Luka Burzan, Colten Gerlib, and Christian Bosa. Kowalski and Alex Zawatski scored for the Rockets.
Cariboo Cougars vs. Fraser Valley Thunderbirds

Cariboo and Fraser Valley also split their weekend series, as Cariboo slowly but surely makes it way towards the top of the league standings. The Cougars won Game 1, thanks to goals from Chase Dubois, Josh Maser, Chris Jandric, and Daine Dubois. Kyle Davis scored the lone goal for Fraser Valley in the loss. The Thunderbirds bounced back in Game 2, With Davis, Kaelen Anderson, Mackenzie Wight, Matthew Dyck, and Justin Plett contributing to the winning effort. Cariboo’s Maser (2), C. Dubois, and Riley Coish scored for the Cougars, but they were unable to get that fifth goal to tie the game up.
Thompson Blazers vs. Vancouver North West Giants

The Giants swept and shutout the Blazers in both games this weekend. In Game 1, David Tendeck posted the shutout while Jason Village (2), Clint Colebourne, and Mackenzie Gray scored. In Game 2, it was Beck Warm who recorded the clean sheet, while Carter Stephenson (2), Josh Latta (2), Mitchell Williams (2), Justin Wilson, and Kevin Wong scored.
North Island Silvertips vs. Greater Vancouver Canadians

North Island 2, Greater Vancouver 5
Both games featured similar storylines and score lines between the Silvertips and Canadians. In Game 1, Dylan Hartl and Dawson Frank scored for the ‘Tips, while Michael Araki-Young, Eric Bourhill (2), Nick Marsh, and Michael Matson scored for the Canadians. In Game 2, Dawson Heathcote and Keaton Mastrodonato scored for the Silvertips, while Tyson Lin (2), Brennan Gaytmenn, Noah Kelly, and Andrew Bennett scored for the Canadians.
South Island Royals vs. Kootenay Ice

The Royals swept the Ice over the weekend, winning both games at home after Kootenay’s long trip to the Island. In Game 1, Jarrett Malloch, Lach Hadley (2), Shota Yamamoto, and Jordan Guiney scored for the Royals, while Conner Seib and Kaleb Comishin (2) scored for the Ice. In Game 2, Reese Tambellini scored the lone goal for the Ice, while Matt Berryman, Jake Wilhelm, and Malloch scored for South Island.
The BC Hockey Major Midget League was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year olds an opportunity to play within their own age group at a high level and be developed for the next level of hockey. These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the National Midget Championship.
