Additional 2016-2017 Major Midget League Team Staff Announced

The BC Major Midget League (MML) is pleased to announce additional team staff for the 2016-2017 season. The staff are being named in addition to the previously announced team staff.

Solmonson holds a kinesiology degree from the University of Calgary, and has served as the trainer for the British Columbia Hockey League’s (BCHL) Prince George Spruce Kings for the past three (3) seasons.
 
Marsh is currently a commerce student at the University of British Columbia. Marsh will assist General Manager Phil Alalouf with day-to-day operations of the team.
 
Smith is a former National Hockey League (NHL) player, spending 10 seasons with the Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers, and New York Rangers. He served as an assistant coach for the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Kamloops Blazers from 2008 to 2011, and was the head coach of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League’s (KIJHL) Kamloops Storm for the 2011-2012 season.
 
Cochrane played for the Thompson Blazers before moving on to the Chilliwack Chiefs (BCHL) and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) Ooks of the Alberta College Athletic Conference.
 
Andrews is joining the Royals after serving as the trainer for the MML Kootenay Ice and KIJHL Nelson Leafs last season.
 
The MML was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year olds an opportunity to play within their own age group at a high level and be developed for the next level of hockey. These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the TELUS Cup, Canada’s National Midget Championship, which will take place in Prince George, BC in April 2017.
