A motion was carried allowing the expansion of player draw zones at the Midget age group that also is in keeping with BC Hockey's philosophy of encouraging participants to be the best they can be in developing hockey skills and developing successful members of our society under the principles of education, education, team play, commitment, and social development. All Midget aged players (aged 15, 16 and 17 within the calendar year) are eligible to try out for a Major Midget League zone team.

Evaluation camp information and online registration is available on the BC Hockey website each spring

The league is comprised of eleven (11) teams. The numbers of scheduled league games are based on the number of participating teams and consist of a double home/away schedule.

Players will NOT be contacted regarding camp info. Details will be posted on the BC Hockey website and will be publicized by each team.

Evaluation camps for all zone teams are held throughout the province over the same weekend in early August. Additional evaluation sessions may be held until mid September to finalize a team roster. The players will be selected by High Performance evaluators and zone team officials during the evaluation sessions.

1) Provide a standard development opportunity for players, coaches, and officials. 2) Make league programming available to all BC Hockey members. 3) Provide programming in such a manner that costs are shared equally by all participants.
