The BC Major Midget League will be hosting their first Showcase Weekend of the 2012-2013 season on Saturday, October 13, 2012 – Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Langley Events Centre.  The Showcase Weekend will see 10 out of the 11 teams of the Major Midget League come together to play two (2) doubleheaders.

 

 

The doubleheader match-ups for the Showcase Weekend are: Kootenay Ice vs. Vancouver North East Chiefs, Okanagan Rockets vs. Valley West Hawks, Thompson Blazers vs. Fraser Valley Thunderbirds, Cariboo Cougars vs. Vancouver North West Giants and South Island Royals vs. Greater Vancouver Canadians.  The North Island Silvertips have a bye weekend.

 

The Showcase Weekends allow family/friends, fans and scouts to watch the best midget-aged players in the Province play in a single arena.  The Langley Events Centre will also host the second BC Major Midget League Showcase Weekend January 19-20, 2013 and the All Star Game on January 18, 2013.

 

The BC Hockey Major Midget League was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year olds an opportunity to play within their own age group at a high level and be developed for the next level of hockey.  These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the National Midget Championship.
