Team BC Set For Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup; Barzal Named Team Captain

Team BC U16 Male begins game action today when they take on Team Alberta at the Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup, which runs November 1-4, 2012 in Calgary, Alberta at the Father David Bauer Arena.
                    
Team BC staff also announced the team captains for the competition:
 
Captain – Mathew Barzal (Coquitlam)
Assistant Captains – Matthew Bradley (Surrey), Chaz Reddekopp (Westbank), Jansen Harkins (North Vancouver)
 
The event features the highest rated players in the Under 16 age category representing the four (4) Western Provinces of BC, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.  The Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup only occurs in the off years of the Canada Winter Games.

Game #7 – Bronze Medal Game (3rd Place vs 4th Place) – 9:30am
Game #8 – Gold Medal Game (1st Place vs 2nd Place) – 1:00pm
 
The Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup is a partnership between the four (4) Western Provincial Hockey Branches – BC Hockey, Hockey Alberta, Hockey Manitoba and the Saskatchewan Hockey Association – and the Western Hockey League (WHL).
