Special Programs - BC Hockey In Our Schools - Purpose
To introduce BC students to Canada’s national game
To support the Physical Educations curriculums with a hockey component
To have local hockey leaders with educational background mentor classroom teachers
To help students to learn to play
To demonstrate a partnership with the Ministry of Education, school districts, schools and communities
To promote healthier lifestyles with increased physical activity
To improve academic achievement through healthier bodies
To reduce absences during school and throughout careers
To positively contribute to lifelong physical activity
To complement the hockey efforts of local communities
