The Female Midget AAA league has a unique format for the 2008-2009 season.  Each team will host a league play weekend whereby all the teams come together, similar to a tournament, at the same place one weekend a month to play multiple league games against the other teams.  This has been a measure adopted by the league to maximize playing time and to reduce travel and accommodation expense.

The Female Midget AAA League was initiated in the 2007-2008 season in response to the membership’s desire to provide an opportunity for elite female hockey players to come together on zone teams to challenge other elite Female Midget teams.
