Female Midget AAA League All Star Rosters Announced

Tuesday, January 05, 2010

BC Hockey announced today the rosters for the inaugural Female Midget AAA League All Star Game. The All Star Game will be held in Nanaimo at the Nanaimo Ice Centre on Friday, January 22, 2010 with puck drop at 7:00 pm.

Forty players (12 defensemen, 24 forwards and 4 goaltenders) have been selected, with at least one (1) player representing each of the six (6) Female Midget AAA teams. Players were evaluated on their on-ice and off-ice performance by the All Star Game selection committee.

During the first and second intermission of the game a skills competition will be held for all the participating All Star players. The skill competition will include: hardest shot, fastest skater and a breakaway challenge.

The Female Midget AAA League was initiated in the 2007-2008 season in response to the membership’s desire to provide an opportunity for elite female hockey players to come together on zone teams to challenge other elite Female Midget teams.
