BC Hockey announced today that Lindsay Audia (Trail, BC) of the Kootenay Wildcats has been selected as the Female Midget AAA player of the month for January. Audia had a great month finishing with four (4) goals, two (2) assists and a plus seven (7) rating in only three (3) games.
“She continues to be a constant threat every time she is on the ice,” said Kootenay Wildcats head coach Paul Matteucci. “Lindsay is the Wildcats captain and inspirational leader, her passion on the bench is infectious and helps drive the whole team.”
Audia was chosen from a high calibre list of other nominees. The runners up in no particular order are as follows:
- Thompson-Okanagan Rockets – Julia McKinnon
- Vancouver Fusion – Cassidy Hendricks
- Fraser Valley Phantom – Jennifer McLean
- Prince George Cougars – Taya Garneau
- Vancouver Island Impact – Emily Heavenor
The Female Midget AAA League was initiated in the 2007-2008 season in response to the membership’s desire to provide an opportunity for elite female hockey players to come together on zone teams to challenge other elite Female Midget teams.
