The Female Midget AAA League (FMAAA) provides an opportunity for elite female hockey players to come together on zone-based teams. There are currently five (5) FMAAA teams throughout the province. These teams have the opportunity to compete for the ESSO Cup, Canada's National Female Midget Championship. |

BC Hockey's Female Program of Excellence (POE), formerly High Performance Program, was established to identify and train athletes and team personnel for possible participation at provincial, national and international events. Programs at the U12/U14, U16 and U18 age levels are offered. |

The Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) operates Hockey Canada sport school-based female prep and varsity teams with BC. These programs offer Midget-age players the opportunity to attend the same school as their teammates and play teams from across Western Canada. |

The South Coast Women's Hockey League (SCWHL) offers a competitive playing option to players who have graduated from minor hockey. The league includes nine (9) Senior female AAA teams in Greater Vancouver, VIctoria, Kamloops and Prince George.

The Junior Women's Hockey League (JWHL) exposes female players to a world of sport venues, elite standards and world class education. The league provides players the opportunity to play in NCAA and U Sports facilities across North America. The JWHL has moved more than 600 players onto university hockey since its inception in 2007. |

Hockey Canada operates the National Women's U18 and National Women's teams. Various camps and international competitions are held each year. Since 1990, Canada's National Women's Team has found unparalled success on the international stage, including 10 gold medals at the IIHF Ice Hockey Women's World Championship and four (4) Winter Olympic golds. |
