The 2019 Female U18 Provincial Camp wrapped up today at Shawnigan Lake School with the completion of the final games. The camp featured on and off-ice activities that introduced the elite athletes to the most up to date information and concepts as they relate to both national and international levels of hockey.
The players took part in a fitness testing session, on-ice skill sessions, strength and conditioning sessions and three (3) games over the course of the four (4) day event.
Three (3) teams, Team BC Green, Team BC Orange and Team BC Purple all finished atop the standings with 2-1 records. Jenna Buglioni (Port Moody) and Sarah Paul (Kelowna) finished in a tie for first in scoring with five (5) points each.

The players were invited to the camp based on their performance at the 2019 Female U18 BC Cup held in April in Salmon Arm, BC. The next stage for select athletes will be to compete with Team BC at the National Women’s Under-18 Hockey Championship set for November 5 – 9, 2019 in Morden and Winkler, Manitoba.
BC Hockey’s Female Program of Excellence (POE) was established to identify and train athletes and team personnel for possible participation at provincial, national and international events. BC Hockey’s female U18 level is the third and final stage of the POE and is an opportunity for the top players in BC and the Yukon to train and compete at an elite level and is meant to introduce players to the beginning of the Hockey Canada POE.
