BC Hockey to Webcast all Major Midget League Games
Thursday, September 19, 2013
BC Hockey announced plans Thursday, September 19, 2013 to provide live video coverage of all BC Major Midget League (MML) regular season games on the internet in partnership with PlayFullScreen.
The MML regular season gets underway on Saturday, September 21, 2013 with five (5) games across the province.  For the first two (2) weeks of the season, fans can enjoy watching the MML games for free.  After the trial period, the following rates will apply:
  • $8.00 per live game
  • $4.00 per archived game
  • $35.00 for a five (5) game pack
  • $162.50 for a 25 game pack
“As a league we are thrilled to be able to offer video streaming for all 11 of our teams.  We strive to offer the best experiences possible for our players and families, and this will certainly help keep the players families connected when unable to attend games,” said BC Major Midget League Managing Director Joe Downing.  “Another added benefit is increased exposure for our players to the hockey world. Anytime we can make it easier for our players to be seen, the greater potential they have to get noticed.  Finally, all of our teams through this program will have the ability to utilize the video as a teaching tool for the players, further enhancing this partnerships value to the BCMML.”
“By maintaining their Internet Broadcast content rights, BC Hockey and the MML recognize the paradigm shift toward and value in becoming one's own broadcast media company,” said PlayFullScreen President Dave McIlroy.   “Having worked closely with BC Hockey and the Major Midget League for the past four years, we are thrilled to have helped guide them in this direction and to now provide their technical services and superior presentations online for all the MML games”
The BC Hockey Major Midget League was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year olds an opportunity to play within their own age group at a high level and be developed for the next level of hockey.  These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the National Midget Championship.
