Team BC Falls to Team Alberta
Saturday, November 2, 2013
Team BC snapped their six (6) game winning streak at the Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup with a 3-2 overtime loss to Team Alberta.  Team BC finished the round robin with a 2-1 record and will advance to the Gold Medal game with a rematch against Team Alberta.  The event runs October 31 – November 3, 2013 at Father David Bauer Arena in Calgary, Alberta.  
Team Alberta opened the scoring the first period to take the early advantage.  After a scoreless second period, Alberta added to their lead with a goal six (6) minutes into the frame.  Team BC showed resilience and scored a pair of goals minutes apart to tie the game at two (2).  Goal scorers for Team BC were Tyson Jost (Kelowna, BC) and Dante Fabbro (Whistler, BC).  The game needed overtime and Alberta scored at the 4:17 mark to skate away with the 3-2 victory.
Daniel Toews (Kamloops, BC) stopped 39 of 42 shots for Team BC.
Players who got points on the board for Team BC in game one (1) include:
Team BC Goal #1 –Tyson Jost from Dante Fabbro and Josh Anderson
Team BC Goal #2 – Dante Fabbro from Jake Kryski and Tyson Jost
Team BC’s next match-up will be against Team Alberta with puck drop at 10:00 am PST on November 2, 2013.
The Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup features the highest rated players representing the four (4) western provinces (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba) in the Under 16 age category.  The exciting annual event is held through a partnership with the WHL and BC Hockey, Hockey Alberta, Hockey Manitoba, and the Saskatchewan Hockey Association. 
The Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup is a partnership between the four (4) Western Provincial Hockey Branches – BC Hockey, Hockey Alberta, Hockey Manitoba and the Saskatchewan Hockey Association – and the Western Hockey League (WHL).

The Daniel Toews (B.C. Team) Family took a flight to Calgary, Oct. 31st. to attend the Tournament. The Sunday Nov. 3rd. GOLD MEDAL GAME...1:30 pm 1st. place AB. 4 2nd. place B.C. 2 (Silver) On Sat. Nov 2nd.,the Red Carpet was laid out for Daniel Toews to walk up to recieve his MPV Award.
