2014 BC Winter Games Webcast
Friday, February 21, 2014
The 2014 BC Winter Games are underway at the Mission Sports & Leisure Centre.  The BC Winter Games will be held in Mission, BC from February 20-23, 2014.  The teams are comprised from Under 16 players from the Female U16 Zone Camps held in early January.
BC Hockey will webcast the Bronze and Gold medal games from the Mission Sports & Leisure Centre on Sunday morning.  Click Here to check out the action.
Open zone camps were held January 3 – 5, 2014 in six (6) zones across BC.  Based on performances at the zone camps, eight (8) teams of the top 20 players were formed to compete at the BC Winter Games.  From the Lower Mainland zone camp three (3) teams were selected: Fraser River Delta, Vancouver Squamish and Fraser Valley.  From all other zones (Vancouver Island – Central Coast, Thompson Okanagan, Kootenay, North Central and North West) one (1) team was selected.
The teams will compete in two (2) pools with the top two (2) teams from each pool playing in the final game.  The winning team will receive gold and the right to be named the BC Winter Games champions.
BC Hockey’s Female High Performance Program was established to identify and train athletes and team personnel for possible participation at Provincial, National and International events. The U16 program is particularly important as it is the first stage in the Female High Performance program where player evaluation and team selection occurs.
