BC Hockey announced February 12, 2015 that Keegan Jones of the Vancouver North West Giants has been named the Major Midget League Player of the Month for January. Jones tallied six (6) goals, four (4) assists, and just two (2) penalty minutes during the month.
Jones, a 6’3” forward from West Vancouver, has a total of 22 goals and 15 assists for a total of 37 points in 32 games so far this season. His Giants team has a 23-8-3 record this season, placing them at second in the league.
Said Giants coach Clint Thornton, “Keegan is the captain of the North West Giants and provides leadership to his teammates and encouragement to the many affiliate players that have joined our team every month this year due to injuries. Following a great run for the Giants at the recent Mac’s Tournament, Keegan continued to help his team perform at the highest level through a victorious month of January.”
Jones was chosen from a high calibre list of nominees for this prestigious award. The runners up in no particular order are as follows:

The BC Hockey Major Midget League was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year olds an opportunity to play within their own age group. Playing at this high level and be developed for the next level of hockey. These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the National Midget Championship.
