UFA Bisons Capture the 2015 Pacific Midget Regional Championships
Saturday, April 4, 2015

The UFA Bisons captured the 2015 Pacific Midget Regional Championship with a 5-0 win over the Vancouver North East Chiefs in the Game two (2) in the best of three (3) Regional Championship held at UBC Thunderbird Arena.  The Bisons will now represent the Pacific Region at the 2015 TELUS Cup that will be held in Rivière-du-Loup, Québec, from April 20-26, 2015.

Game one (1) saw the Bisons dominate the opening period and took a 1-0 lead into the 2nd period on the back of a Power Play goal from Gary Haden.  The Chiefs found their legs in the second period and tied the game at one (1) off a great top corner shot from Caleb Fantillo.  Tied at one (1) heading into the third period, the Bisons were able to capitalize on two (2) Power Plays to make a it a 3-1 game.  Ronnie Wilkie scored with five (5) minutes left to cut the lead to one (1), but this was as close as the Chiefs would get.  The Bisons added an empty-netter and skated away with a 4-2 win.

Game two (2) started out much different with the Chiefs jumping out to a quick start, however a pair of goals were waved off and the Bisons capitalized on a Power Play to make it a 1-0 game heading in the second.  The Bisons offense erupted in the second period scoring three (3) goals in a span seven (7) minutes.  The Bisons hot play continued early into the third period adding a fifth goal to take a commanding 5-0 lead.  The Chiefs battled hard, but were unable to beat Kurtis Champan.
