Thompson Blazers vs. Greater Vancouver Canadians
Game 1: Thompson 4, Greater Vancouver 2
Game 2: Thompson 3, Greater Vancouver 1
The Blazers swept the series over the weekend, beating Greater Vancouver in two (2) games. In Game 1, Blazers goalie Aris Anagnostopoulos played an impressive game, stopping 62 shots and scoring an empty-net goal to help his team to the 4-2 win.  Bennett Hunter (2) and Austen McKean also scored for the Blazers, while Eric Bourhill and Brennan Gaytmenn scored for the Canadians in a loss. The Blazers kept up the momentum in Game 2, earning a 3-1 win thanks to goals from Ryan Chyzowski, Matthew Facchinelli, and Jacob Boston. Greater Vancouver’s Julius Zhang scored the lone goal in the loss.
Okanagan Rockets vs. Fraser Valley Thunderbirds
Game 1: Okanagan 1, Fraser Valley 1
Game 2: Okanagan 3, Fraser Valley 3
The Rockets and T-Birds skated to a 1-1 tie in Game 1. Okanagan’s Chase Stevenson opened the scoring with 5:54 to go in the first period, and Fraser Valley’s Kaelen Anderson answered back early in the second to tie the game. The teams battled it out for the rest of the game, but no one was able to find the back of the net. The teams finished Game 2 with another tie after Justin Plett, Justin Hargrave, and Logan Hunter scored for Fraser Valley and Myles Mattila, Hayden Dick, and Eli Zummack scored for Okanagan.
Kootenay Ice vs. North Island Silvertips
Game 1: Kootenay 6, North Island 6
Game 2: Kootenay 3, North Island 1
North Island made the long trip from Nanaimo to Nelson this weekend to face off against the Ice. In Game 1, the teams posted a combined 12 goals in a 6-6 tie – North Island’s Keaton Mastrodonato scored his second goal of the night with just 28 seconds to go to tie the score for his club. Dawson Heathcote, Wyatt Selva, Trey Watson, and Cole Pridham also scored for the Silvertips, while Hunter Floris (2), Bradley Ross (2), Aiden Jenner, and Shawn Campbell scored for the Ice. In Game 2, Jenner opened the scoring for Kootenay in the second period, but North Island’s Kyle Pow scored 4:40 into the third to tie the game. Kootenay responded, with Brendan Makay and Bradley Ross both scoring with less than 1:30 to go to clinch the 3-1 win.
Vancouver North East Chiefs vs. Valley West Hawks
Game 1: Vancouver NE 5, Valley West 6
Game 2: TBD (Monday, 8:15PM)
