BC Hockey announced Thursday, September 7, 2017 the schedule for the 2017 – 2018 BC Major Midget League (MML) regular season. The season will kick off on Friday, September 22, 2017 with the Thompson Blazers hosting the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds.
2017 – 2018 MML Schedule
The schedule is highlighted by two (2) Showcase Weekends; one on September 29 – October 1, 2017 at the Richmond Oval and the second on January 11 – 13, 2018.
The Kootenay Ice and Okanagan Rockets will also play a two (2) game exhibition series with the Everett Junior Silvertips. The Silvertips will play the Rockets during the first Showcase Weekend and then faceoff against the Ice during the second Showcase Weekend.
The 220-game regular season wraps up the weekend of March 10 – 11, 2018, with the playoffs beginning March 17, 2018. The MML Championship series will take place Aril 1 – 3, 2018, with the winner advancing to the Pacific Regionals in Alberta for a chance to play in the 2018 TELUS Cup, hosted in Sudbury, Ontario.
The MML was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year olds an opportunity to play within their own age group at a high level and be developed for the next level of hockey. These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the TELUS Cup, Canada’s National Midget Championship.
