The 2019 TELUS Cup Pacific Regional Championship is set to get underway on Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Cardel Rec Centre South in Calgary, Alberta.
The best of three (3) matchup pits the winner of BC Hockey’s Major Midget League (MML), the Cariboo Cougars, and the victor of the Alberta Midget AAA League (AMHL), the Calgary Buffaloes, to determine who represents the Pacific Region at the 2019 TELUS Cup.
The Cougars defeated the reigning MML champions, the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds, to punch their ticket to the Pacific Regional Championship. Cariboo swept their opponents winning the first game 3-0, and the next day they won 8-2 claiming the title as MML champions, the second league championship in three (3) years for the Cougars.
The Buffaloes beat the St. Albert Raiders three (3) games to none after 7-4. 4-3 and 3-2 wins which included a pair of overtime victories.

The TELUS Cup is the Canadian Midget Championship, that sees six (6) of the country’s top teams from five (5) regions; Atlantic, Central. Pacific, Quebec and West along with the host team from Thunder Bay, Ontario. The dates for this year’s event is April 22-28, 2019.
