BC Hockey has announced coaching changes for Male U16 Team BC. Jamie Jackson (Langley, BC) has been named head coach following the resignation of Scott Burt.
Jackson, originally named an assistant coach with Team BC, now assumes the head coaching role. Jackson currently serves as an assistant coach with the Coquitlam Express of the BC Hockey League and head coach with St. George’s School Elite 15 Team of the Canadian Sports School Hockey League.
Rylan Ferster (Prince Albert, SK) remains as an assistant coach while Leland Mack (Burnaby Winter Club/Port Moody, BC) moves from video coach to assistant coach. BC Hockey will announce a video coach in the future.
The coaching staff will be at the 2019 Male U16 Provincial Camp which gets underway on July 29, 2019 at Shawnigan Lake School in Shawnigan Lake, BC. The camp features 60 of BC Hockey’s top players and will be a key evaluation tool for the selection of Team BC which will compete at the 2019 WHL Cup in November against Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Team BC is the defending gold medallists winning the last WHL Cup in 2017.

The BC Hockey Male POE was introduced in 1980 with the mandate to systematically identify and train the province's elite-level players for high-performance hockey sporting events. The overall objective of the program is to increase the chances of athletes from BC to compete provincially, regionally, nationally and internationally with the goal being selected to Hockey Canada’s National Junior or National Senior Team.
