BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - OCTOBER 30-31

Saanichton, B.C. – The standings remain extremely close atop the U17 AAA league as only two points separate four teams. In the U18 Female AAA league the Thompson-Okanagan Lakers and the Northern Capitals matchup will see the league’s top three scoring leaders all in action. Let’s see what else is on the menu this weekend!
 
U18 Female AAA
 
The Vancouver Island Seals come into the weekend off the back of a huge win against the Northern Capitals last Saturday. They will make the trip to Richmond to take on the Greater Vancouver Comets this weekend, who are still looking for their first win of the year. The Thompson-Okanagan Lakers will look to close the gap on the Fraser Valley Rush at the top of the league this weekend as the Lakers travel up north to take on the Northern Capitals. Capitals’ goaltender Karsyn Niven will be looking to add to her league-leading two shutouts.

U18 AAA
 
The Vancouver NW Hawks jumped into top spot in the standings after a thrilling weekend sweep of the Valley West Giants last time out as they scored 14 goals from nine different players. Hawks goaltender Aidan Fischer will be looking to lower his 1.73 GAA as his team travels to take on the South Island Royals. The Vancouver NE Chiefs will look to stay on the Hawks’ tail in the standings this weekend as they host the North Island Silvertips, who are only trail the Chiefs by two points.

U17 AAA
 
The North Island Silvertips recorded their first two wins of the year last weekend as they swept the South Island Royals. They’ll hope to carry that momentum into their upcoming series with the Vancouver NE Chiefs. Brendan Gee of the Greater Vancouver Canadians has only allowed three goals in his three starts this season, winning all of them. He will hope to carry this hot start into the matchup against the Thompson Blazers.

The Valley West Giants remain unbeaten after they defeated the South Island Royals in both games last weekend. Next up for them is two games against the Vancouver NW Hawks, who are only three points behind them in the standings. Elsewhere, goaltender Levi Hollatz will look to add to his perfect record on the season, four wins in four games, as the Thompson Blazers travel to take on the South Island Royals.
