BCEHL Players of the Month - October 2021
Wednesday, November 10, 2021

For Immediate Release

November 10, 2021

Saanichton, B.C. – Each month the BCEHL will honour one player from each of the four leagues as the BCEHL Player of the Month for their respective league. This award is not based strictly on statistics. Every team has the opportunity to nominate an individual from their team to be considered for the monthly award. The coaches factor in the player’s on-and-off ice contributions towards the team as well as their involvement within the community and minor hockey mentorship.

#3 Aynsley D'Ottavio

Fraser Valley Rush

Rosedale, BC

Aynsley recorded 15 points (2g-13a) in the month of October while patrolling the blue line for the Rush. The 16-year-old is tremendously committed to team and self improvement through hard work and effort. Every session she brings exceptional energy to the rink and a joy for the game.

Aynsley, along with her teammates, plan community events and mentorship opportunities. They are currently working on multiple events that include a mentorship skate for two minor hockey associations.

#14 Decker Mujcin

Cariboo Cougars

Prince George, BC

Decker was the unanimous selection as team captain of the Cariboo Cougars by his peers and staff members this season. He has continually shown great leadership and pride in being a member, and a leader, of the U18 AAA Cariboo Cougars.

Decker holds his teammates accountable and leads by example. Through what his coach describes as "true grit and determination", Decker tallied 18 points (7g-11a) in 12 games in October.

                            #91 Levi Green

                            Vancouver NE Chiefs

                            New Westminster, BC

In the team’s six games in the month of October, Levi racked up 12 points (3g-9a). He has been an incredibly vital key to the Chiefs’ success to start the regular season. He has been a leader in the room earning the respect of his teammates and has been named an alternate captain.

In addition to his impressive scoring stats, Levi took the lead to help show minor hockey affiliate players around, involve them with the group, and help them through practices. Levi has also helped the U15 AAA team in skills sessions.

#22 Ty Coupland

Vancouver NW Hawks

North Vancouver, BC

Ty was one of the most dynamic scorers in the BCEHL in the month of October as he recorded 23 points (12g-11a) in eight league games with the U15 AAA Vancouver NW hawks. He was named captain of Hawks, which is a testament to his skill and leadership abilities.  Ty leads by example every day.

The 14-year-old is expected to be selected early in the WHL Draft that is expected to occur in May 2022.
