Friday, February 6, 2009

BC Hockey announced today that South Island Thunderbirds forward Wesley Myron has been named the Major Midget League Player of the Month for January.  Myron finished the month of January with eight (8) goals and eight (8) assists for a total of 16 points.  In addition to his outstanding play on-ice, he has excelled in the classroom maintaining an honour roll standing over the past two (2) years.

“Wesley was made an assistant captain at the start of January and has responded with great leadership on and off the ice,” said Thunderbirds head coach Rob Milliken.  “Coming back from a rib injury that kept him out of action in December, he was the leading scorer for our team in January.”

As well as being named Player of the Month, Myron will receive a gift from Mission-Itech on his selection.
