Major Midget League Player of the Month - November

BC Hockey announced today that Cariboo Cougars forward Dylan Willick has been named the Major Midget League Player of the Month for November.  Willick finished the month of November with seven (7) goals and six (6) assists and a plus seven (7) rating.  In addition to this award Dylan has been recognized as a leader in the aboriginal community receiving several awards and his team has nominated him for a scholarship award at the prestigious Mac Tournament this Christmas in Calgary, Alberta.

“Dylan has been a quite leader on our team and his 100 percent work ethic never varies,” said Cariboo Cougars head coach Trevor Sprague.  “His contributions to the team off-ice are often overlooked and his work on-ice is a central part of our team’s success.”

As well as being named Player of the Month, Willick will receive a gift from Mission-Itech on his selection.

Dylan Willick was chosen from a high calibre list of other nominees for this prestigious award.  The runners up in no particular order are as follows:

  • North Island Silvertips – Jared Crema
  • Fraser Valley Bruins – Nathan Law
  • Greater Vancouver Canadians – Manraj Hayer
  • Valley West Hawks – No Nomination
  • Kootenay Ice – Bennett Hambrook
  • Vancouver North East Chiefs – Matthew Genovese
  • Okanagan Rockets – Tyler Parfeniuk
  • Vancouver North West Giants – Brady Brassart
  • South Island Thunderbirds – Brandon Glover
  • Thompson Blazers – Alex Marr

The BC Hockey Major Midget League was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year olds an opportunity to play within their own age group.  Playing at this high level and be developed for the next level of hockey. These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the National Midget Championship.
