2012 Team Pacific Staff Announced
Friday, May 27, 2011
BC Hockey announced May 27, 2011 the Male U17 Team Pacific staff selections from BC that will compete at the 2012 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Winnipeg, MB beginning at the end of December 2011.
Assistant Coach
Jim Dinwoodie
(Coquitlam, BC)
Athletic Therapist
Chad Oliver
(Port Alberni, BC)
Dinwoodie has been involved extensively with BC Hockey over the past 10 years, particularly with the Male U16 and U17 High Performance Programs. He served as the Head Coach of Team BC that competed at the 2009 Western Canada Branch Challenge. Through his experience, Dinwoodie will bring to Team Pacific a solid technical background and strong leadership skills.
Oliver is a Certified Athletic Therapist, and brings with him a wealth of experience. In 2008 he had the opportunity to work a week long internship with Head Athletic Therapist Jim Ramsay of the New York Rangers. He has previously served as the Athletic Therapist for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the BCHL, and has experience with Team Canada West at the 2010 World Junior A Challenge.
Selection for Team Pacific’s roster follows a number of steps, beginning with the U17 BC Cup which was held May 11-15, 2011 in Salmon Arm, BC. The top players from the BC Cup will be selected to move on to the U17 Regional Camp, where they will join players from Alberta, in Calgary, AB from July 24-27, 2011. Following the Regional Camp, a short list of the top players from BC will continue to be evaluated with their club teams until mid November. From this list the top players from BC and Alberta will be selected to form Team Pacific.
BC Hockey’s Male High Performance Program was established to identify and train athletes and team personnel for possible participation at Provincial, National and International events.
