BC Hockey Announces Female U18 Cup Rosters and Tournament Schedule
Wednesday, February 21, 2007

BC Hockey is proud to announce the rosters of the six zone teams that will participate in the upcoming Female U18 BC Cup in Salmon Arm, BC from April 18 to 22, 2007.

Players were selected and ranked at zone identification camps that were completed in early January.  Based on these player rankings BC Hockey compiled six even teams with approximately three players from each zone. Upon arrival in Salmon Arm each team will get two practice sessions in preparation for the competition.

The Female U18 BC Cup is an integral component of the BC Hockey High Performance Program. Athletes participating in this competition will be evaluated for possible selection to the Provincial U18 Camp that will be held in August 2007.  At the provincial camp, players will be further trained, evaluated and possibly selected to the 2007-2008 Team BC where they will compete at the 2008 U18 National Challenge.

All BC Hockey female athletes born in 1990 or 1991 were eligible for the zone camps. The BC Hockey U18 Female High Performance Program is the first provincial competitive experience for female BC Hockey High Performance Athletes. It is hoped that the zone camps will be the initial stage of an athlete’s opportunity to play provincially, nationally and internationally.

Congratulations to the list of selected players.
