The Victoria Cougars Junior Hockey Club capped off its best season in team history by beating the Abbotsford Pilots 4-1 in the championship game of the 2007 Cyclone Taylor Cup, emblematic of the BC Hockey Junior B Championships.
In his final year of junior eligibility, Karl Carveth put the hometown crowd at the Esquimalt’s Archie Browning Sports Centre into a state of pandemonium after he scored two third period goals to put the game out of reach.
Participants in the Junior B Championships included the following teams: Victoria Cougars, Abbotsford Pilots, Kerry Park Islanders and the Fernie Ghostriders.
The Kerry Park Islanders captured the bronze medal after they defeated the Fernie Ghostriders 4-2 at the Esquimalt’s Archie Browning Sports Centre on Sunday.
The Cougars will now move on to represent British Columbia at the Keystone Cup, emblematic of the Western Canadian Junior B Championship. Game one is against Team Manitoba.
