BC Female High Performance Program Receives National Attention

Through the efforts of the BC Hockey High Performance Program and a Provincial initiative called “Game Plan”, BC athletes and sport professionals have been identified by Hockey Canada’s National program to attend the National U19 and U22 fitness camps later this month. 

Over the May long weekend, seven athletes will attend a U19 strength and conditioning camp while, the following weekend another BC player will attend a U22 fitness camp.  Both camps will be held in Calgary and are aimed at testing the players in all areas of fitness.  A select number of players from these camps will be invited to attend on ice camps later this summer when U18 and U22 National teams will be selected for future international competition.  Congratulations to the following players:

Also selected to attend the National fitness camps are five (5) BC Sport Specialists who are part of a BC Hockey initiative called Performance Enhancement Teams. These teams are trained professionals who can be called on to assist our athletes in specific areas of development.  Those invited to work with the National programs this summer are:

Sport Psychologist
Anne Muscat – Vancouver

Goalie Coach
Jennifer Price – New Westminster
