The 2013-2014 BC Hockey Minor Championships are set to get underway starting on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at various locations across the province. Championship schedules for Pee Wee, Bantam, Midget and Juvenile are posted on the BC Hockey website and the BC Hockey Mobile App.
The 2013-2014 BC Hockey Minor Championships will be held during the week of March 16-21, 2014, however, the duration of individual championships may vary. The Juvenile Championship will be played from March 20-23, 2014. The BC Major Midget League started their playoffs last weekend and will start semi-final action today. The Vancouver North West Giants will host the Greater Vancouver Canadians and the Okanagan Rockets will host the Valley West Hawks in a best of three (3) series.
The Female Midget AAA League playoffs start this weekend with a pair of quarterfinal matchups with the West Coast Avalanche hosting the Kootenay Wildcats and the Thompson-Okanagan Rockets hosting the Vancouver Island Hurricanes. The winner of the best of three (3) series will face the Fraser Valley Phantom or Northern Cougars next weekend in the semi-finals.
The Senior Female A Championship is underway in Richmond right now with Richmond, Kamloops, South Fraser, SFU and Dawson Creek vying for a berth to the Western Shield. The 2014 Western Shield will be held in Red Deer, Alberta from April 10-13, 2014.
The Men’s Senior AA Coy Cup Championship is currently underway. Williams Lake will take on Fort Nelson with the opportunity to play Terrace for the Championship on Saturday night.
The BC Intercollegiate Championship Series is set to start tonight with Trinity Western University travelling to Castlegar to play Selkirk College in a best-of-three series.
