SportsCardiologyBC is looking for young (ages 12 – 35), competitive athletes for a large scale research study on cardiovascular disease. On Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 9:00am – 5:00pm, a research team will be testing athletes at Fortius Sport and Health, 3713 Kensington Avenue in Burnaby, BC.
The testing is quick (5-10 minutes) and non-invasive. It includes a resting 12-lead electrocardiogram and personal and family history questionnaire. This will take place at the health clinic on the main floor. Please check in with reception and free parking is available.

To date, the study has included over 1,200 athletes, with the goal being to include a sample of 1,500. The study has been approved by the UBC Clinical Research Ethics Board and is supported by BC Hockey.
SportsCardiologyBC is a Vancouver Coastal Health clinical and research program operated out the UBC Hospital. The program was co-founded by Dr. Saul Isserow and Dr. Jack Taunton following their roles as lead Cardiologist and Chief Medical Officer respectively of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.
