Team BC Scored the 3-2 comeback win over Team Saskatchewan in their third and final game of the round robin at the 2015 U16 Challenge Cup. They will now face Manitoba in the semi-finals.
Saskatchewan jumped out to the early lead, but BC quickly answered with a goal from Keltie Jeri-Leon. Saskatchewan regained the lead late in the first with their second PowerPlay goal of the period. BC was unable to generate a goal in the second period, but early in the third Jeri-Leon scored his second of the game to notch it at two (2). Late in the game it was Eli Zummack serving as the hero scoring the go ahead and eventual game winner. Jordan Naylor was great in net picking up the win.

The Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup will feature the highest-rated players in the U16 age category from BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The tournament will be a four (4) team round robin format and is the first step in Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence for players. Additionally, the event assists the four (4) provincial hockey associations in evaluating top prospects for future high performance programs.
Many National Hockey League (NHL) and Western Hockey League (WHL) players have played at the Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup for Team BC, including: Griffin Reinhart (West Vancouver, Edmonton Oilers), Morgan Reilly (West Vancouver, Toronto Maple Leafs), Jake Virtanen (Abbotsford, Vancouver Canucks), Mathew Barzal (Coquitlam, Seattle Thunderbirds) and Jansen Harkins (North Vancouver, Prince George Cougars).
