Iddon Named BC Hockey Junior Coordinator
Friday, September 9, 2016

BC Hockey announced Friday, September 9, 2016 that Phil Iddon (Fernie, BC) has been named BC Hockey Junior Coordinator for the 2016 – 2017 season.

Iddon has been involved in Junior hockey in the Kootenays for over 15 years, serving in various roles.  Dating back to the late 1990’s, he volunteered with the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) Fernie Ghostriders as trainer and manager.  In 2000, Iddon became president of the hockey club, a role he held for 13 seasons, hosting the Cyclone Taylor Cup in 2011.  Most recently, he was vice president of the KIJHL Eddie Mountain Division.  Outside of the arena, Iddon owns and manages a successful auto parts company in Fernie.

“Phil is an outstanding addition to BC Hockey and will have a positive effect on our Junior Program,” commented BC Hockey Chief Executive Officer Barry Petrachenko.  “He brings experience from all facets of Junior hockey, and a passion for improving by bringing people together around common goals - that can only mean even better things for a program that we are already extremely proud of.”

Iddon will work with the Junior Committee and Junior A and B leagues in the operation and development of the Junior programs.

Junior hockey in BC and the Yukon falls under the jurisdiction of two (2) divisions: Junior A and Junior B.  The Junior A league in BC is better known as the BC Hockey League (BCHL).  Junior B is divided into three (3) leagues: the KIJHL, the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL) and the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL).
