A Winning Finish for Team BC
Tuesday, February 19, 2008

U16 Team BC finished its trip to Japan with a 5-3 victory against a Japanese high school team.  The Japanese high school team consisted of only nine skaters and two goalies that were all 18 years old.

First period scoring came from Brendan Persley unassisted, followed by second period goals from Matthew Bonin and Daniel Lee.  Lee’s goal was a power play marker assisted by Brandon Formosa and Justin Polischuk.

Japan fought hard keeping the game close until Zachary Hodder scored into the empty net late in the third period to secure the victory.

U16 Team BC goaltender Colton Wardrop stopped 21 of 24 shots to earn game MVP honours.
