Hockey Canada and the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced on Tuesday the 22 players who will make up Canada’s National Men’s Under-18 Team at the 2008 IIHF World Under-18 Championship, April 13 to 23 in Kazan, Russia. BC defenceman Colten Teubert of the Regina Pats and forward Brandon McMillan of the Kelowna Rockets were among the players selected.
Colten Teubert, a native of White Rock, BC is playing in his 2nd WHL season. The 17-year old WHL sophomore played in 66 games where he scored 7 goals and added 16 assists for 23 points.
Brandon McMillan, a native of Delta, BC is also playing in his second full WHL season scoring 15 goals and 26 assists for 41 points. Both players were members of Team BC at the Canada Winter Games in 2006.
The players and staff will gather in Toronto on Sunday, April 6 before departing for Minsk, Belarus the following day. Canada will play a pair of pre-tournament games against Belarus on April 10 and against Finland on April 11 in Minsk before opening up the 2008 IIHF World Under-18 Championship against Germany on April 13.
