100 Mile House Selected as 2009 U16 Female BC Cup Host
Tuesday, January 06, 2009

BC Hockey announced today that 100 Mile House, BC will host the 2009 Female Under 16 BC Cup at the South Cariboo Recreation Centre.  The U16 BC Cup will be held from April 2-5, 2009. The 100 Mile House Minor Hockey Association has experienced an increase in their female hockey registration and think that this will be great exposure for the younger females within their association.

The BC Hockey Female U16 program has been designed to instruct and prepare the players for future opportunities in the Female High Performance Program.  The Female Under 16 BC Cup will host the most talented 14-15 year old female players in BC, and prepare the players for the next step in their developmental process.  Open tryouts occurred this past weekend, January 2-4, in six (6) designated zones throughout the Branch.  The players were evaluated throughout the weekend, and six (6) teams were selected following the tryout to participate in the U16 BC Cup.

BC Hockey looks forward to taking a High Performance Event to a Northern District and 100 Mille House is a great location to do so.  For more information on the BC Hockey Female Under 16 Program please Click Here .

“We at the South Cariboo Recreation Centre in 100 Mile House, BC are very pleased and excited to play host to the Female U16 Cup,” said Facility Manager, Josh Dickerson.  “The community of 100 Mile House looks forward to welcoming the athletes and supporting this great event.”
