Female U16 Zone Team Rosters Announced
Tuesday, January 20, 2009

BC Hockey announced today the rosters for Female Under 16 BC Cup in 100 Mile House, BC from April 2-5, 2009.  The teams were selected from the various Zone Cams held across BC from January 2-4, 2009.  The six (6) participating teams are comprised of 20 players from each district (Kootenay, Okanagan, Fraser Valley, Greater Vancouver, Vancouver Island and North) in BC.

U16 BC Cup Rosters and Event Information

The Female U16 BC Cup offers the top female players in the BC Hockey High Performance U16 Program the unique experience of competing with the best players in their age group from across the Province. The objective of the Program is to enhance the overall performance of BC athletes, coaches and officials in high level sporting events.

Starting in the 2007-2008 season a competitive component was added to the Female U16 development program where zone teams will be selected to compete annually in a provincial competition (BC Cup or BC Winter Games in alternating years).  This follows the high performance component of the BC Hockey Female Development Model released in early 2007.

The BC Hockey High Performance U16 Program is under the direction of Robin Douville, BC Hockey Officer at Large, and Bruce Tuck, BC Hockey High Performance Coordinator.  BC Hockey would like to thank all of the volunteers who were involved with the District Camps held in early January.
