This past weekend BC Hockey lost a long-time member of their organization with the passing of Past President and Life Member, Leo Atwell. In total Leo was involved with BC Hockey for over 60 years.
A supporter of hockey his entire life Mr. Atwell was involved with the BC Hockey Executive Committee for 21 years, serving as President of BC Hockey from 1958 to 1963. He helped to foster growth in this organization over his years of his service. Following his service on the Executive Committee, he entered a select fraternity when he was named a life member of BC Hockey in the 1968-1969 season.
In the early 1990’s he penned a book titled “A History of the British Columbia Amateur Hockey Association”. The book chronicled the history of the organization and its development since its formation in 1919.
