Coaching Day in BC took place Saturday, February 7 at GM Place in Vancouver. The annual event is hosted by the Canucks Centre for BC Hockey, BC Hockey and Hockey Canada. This was a great event, well attended by coaches across BC. The coaches received tips and pointers from NHL coaching staff, as well as experts in BC Hockey and Hockey Canada.
Hockey with the following being involved with the program:
Skill development and the latest trends in strength and conditioning;
Canucks game-day skate led by Alain Vigneault, head coach of the Vancouver Canucks, associate coach Rick Bowness and assistant coaches Ryan Walter and Darryl Williams;
Chicago Blackhawks game-day skate led by the Chicago Blackhawks coaching staff;
On-ice demonstration led by BC Hockey course conductors and local minor hockey coaches.
This is another exciting opportunity that the BC Hockey membership has access to through the Canucks Centre for BC Hockey. Programs are run throughout the hockey season and getting involved can be done by simply going to the BC Hockey website to check out the various contests and programs that are run through the Centre.
The Canucks Centre for BC Hockey is a partnership between the Vancouver Canucks and BC Hockey. The main objective of the Canucks Centre for BC Hockey is to strengthen the bond between the Vancouver Canucks Hockey Club and the BC Hockey membership. Working closely with the hockey leaders throughout British Columbia, the Canucks Centre for BC Hockey runs programs that benefit every hockey enthusiast within the province.
