Steven Hodges from Delta, BC has been selected by Hockey Canada to attend the 2009 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Hockey Development Camp, July 4-12 in Vierumkai, Finland. He is one (1) of among 160 players selected in the IIHF’s 56 member nations.
Hodges played for the Bantam Tier 1 South Delta Storm of the South Delta Minor Hockey Association. this past season. He also attended the Male U16 BC Cup and was selected to attend the Male U16 Provincial Camp which is schedule for July 1-4, 2009 at the South Okanagan Event Centre in Penticton. Steven will have the opportunity to be one of twenty players selected to Team BC that will participate at the inaugural Western Branch Challenge this November.
The camp brings together players with a wide variety of skill levels to promote the development of emerging hockey nations with the help of the top hockey nations within the IIHF membership. The goal is to focus attention on the grassroots development programming for the sport of hockey.
The camp will mark the sixth time the IIHF has brought together young players from around the world since the first camp was held in Nymburg, Czech Republic in August 1999.
