3 Players Invited to Attend Hockey Canada Evaluation Camp

Hockey Canada announced today that BC’s Tegan Cochrane, Kaleigh Fratkin and Anna Kozniuk have been invited to attend the National Women’s Under 18 Skills Development & Selection Camp in Calgary, AB from July 23-30, 2009.
All of the athletes selected to take part in the camp also participated in the National Women’s Under 18 Team strength and conditioning/skating camp in May.  22 players will be selected following the camp in Calgary to participate in a three (3) game series against the USA National Women’s Under 18 Team, in Calgary, August 24, 25 and 27.
Tegan Cochrane from Kelowna, BC was invited, but unable to attend the Camp.  This past season Cochrane played for the Pursuit of Excellence 
Kaleigh Fratkin from Burnaby, BC was been a stand out on defence last season for the Female Midget AAA Champions, Vancouver Fusion.  Fratkin was also a member of the National Women’s Under 18 team that captured a silver medal at the 2009 IIHF World Women’s Championship in Germany.
Anna Kozniuk from North Vancouver, BC was a member of the North Shore Female Midget team and was affiliated to the Vancouver Fusion of the Female Midget AAA League this past season.  Her first taste of the Women’s National Under 18 Team was this past May when she participated in the National Women’s Under 18 strength and conditioning/skating camp in Calgary.
The 2010 IIHF World Women’s Under 18 Championship will be held in the United States from March 27 to April 3, 2010.  Team Canada’s goal is to select the team following the three (3) game series with the United States in August.
