PAGE 15 MIDGET LEAGUES MAJOR MIDGET LEAGUE The Major Midget League MML entered the thirteen season of play this past year and has experienced tremendous growth since the creation in 2003-2004. The developmental model is effective with over 1135 players graduating to Junior hockey. The Valley West Hawks captured their first League Championship with a great playoff performance capped off by a win over the Cariboo Cougars. The Hawks bid for a National Championship fell short with a loss to the Lloydminster Bobcats in the Midget Pacific Regional Championship. Last season the MML saw 92 grads go on to play hockey for Junior B Junior A and Western Hockey League teams. At the end of the season Cariboo Cougars Head Coach Trevor Sprague was named the 2015-2016 MML Coach of the Year.
